When someone is doing what they were created to do, and they are having SO much fun doing it (and they aren’t looking around to see what others are doing), it shows in everything they do!! They are the type of person that you want to sit down with a cup of coffee and shoot the breeze. I have been following Nikki Elledge Brown for a few months, and I’ve been hesitant to take another online class, but I hopped on the band wagon, when Nikki opened a mini course in A Course About Copy.
From her Facebook page, I found that Nikki is exceptionally charming and relatable! She doesn’t put on a show (she recently posted a picture of her Disneyland bed head – soooo brave of her!!!). She is SUPER fun, and energetic! But what about her class?? What is she like in her class?? Is she mean and nasty, or is she sweet and helpful? She offered a mini course on A Course About Copy, and OHMYGOODNESS, her class is amazing! I started her A Course About Copy mini course a few days ago, and the feel of the class is aaaaaaammaaaazing and sooooooo refreshing! Sooooo different! The way an online class should feel.
Nikki has created a think-tank of highly creative entrepreneurs who give constructive feedback to the other entrepreneurs. In a few, short days, I feel that I have received and participated in an incredible online community of people. I feel connected.
The way she runs this class is BRILLIANT! Rather than everyone relying on her (which she gives permission to the students to rely on each other, and not solely on her), she said that we have great ideas and can help each other brainstorm. How freeing is that?!
She has had some super fun exercises, we have posted pictures (I’m still slacking on this….you’d think it’d be easy to post a picture…but no…I’m scraping tar on my Airstream (super glamorous)…getting a flash sale together…shopping. Ok so it sounds like I’m a slacker.) from around the world (which we have discovered that Colorado has a huge representation in the class). There is a talent show going on! (Right now my talent is folding flat as a pancake to renovate the glamstream – as seen in the above photo) Seriously, if you aren’t in this class, then you are missing out on good-creative-fun!
Nikki brings a breath of fresh air to the copywriting community! This class is not a hierarchy of vicious entrepreneurs vying for a coach’s attention. It is a community think-tank of raw entrepreneurs who are baring their soul (in a non-therapy sort of way) with their baby (websites). I have yet to encounter someone in this class who has felt the need to ‘one-up’ another student, or whose criticism has been just that: critical. As a survivor of art school, I know that anything creative can be quickly torn down, and many times it makes us reluctant to opening up and sharing, let alone asking for feedback.
On the first day, Nikki asked what our expectations were of the class. I admitted I am/was a toe dipper with commitment issues because of previous experiences. I can say, now, that I am a fan! Please go to Nikki’s webpage and sign up for her copywriting class. I think you’ll really like her, and what she has to say.

If you know me personally, you know it’s no secret that I don’t like keeping secrets. Christmas is the WORST! I just want to give the present and see the joy and delight on the recipient’s face! This project isn’t any different. The problem is, we are still working on it. But I HAD to share my joy and delight with you!
I hope you’ll come back on February 23rd when we launch our project; and I hope you’ll support us! If you haven’t joined our email list, please sign up, so you can be the first to participate!
